Bring your subtitles
Open a UTF-8 SRT file or paste its contents. No video upload or sign-in needed.
Turn long SRT lines into readable subtitles.
Keep your words, cue numbers, and timing exactly where they belong.
Your file stays in this tab. Cues that need more than two lines are kept intact and flagged for review.

Choose a line limit. We wrap at spaces, using no more than two lines, and keep compliant cues as they are.
Compare the changes. Check flagged cues in your editor, then download the complete SRT.
For example, a long sentence becomes two readable lines. Its cue number and time range stay the same.
Character counts are a guide, not a measurement of screen width. Always check the subtitles in your final video player.

No. Cue numbers, order, and timing lines are preserved. We never divide one cue into new time segments.
It stays exactly as supplied and is flagged. The download includes it unchanged. Shorten it or retime it in a subtitle editor where you can check the video.
Balanced i, b and u tags without attributes are kept and excluded from the character count. Unknown or broken tags, ASS overrides, and CJK text are kept unchanged and flagged. Two-speaker dialogue keeps its original line boundary; overlong speaker lines are flagged instead of merged.
We prefer punctuation and phrase boundaries, avoiding common breaks after articles, pronouns, auxiliaries and prepositions. Existing compliant lines are kept. These are English heuristics, not a full grammar parser: review the result in context.
Visible character clusters, including spaces and punctuation, excluding supported style tags. A family emoji counts as one character. Extra separating spaces may be normalized in rewrapped cues. Words are never rewritten.
Your subtitle content stays in your browser. There is no subtitle upload endpoint. We count page visits and tool events on the production website without sending subtitles or filenames; see our privacy page. Refreshing clears the app state; your browser may independently restore form fields.
This version accepts UTF-8 SRT only, up to 1 MiB. It does not transcribe audio, translate, or burn captions into video. Export other encodings as UTF-8 before importing.
